California has the biggest economy in the country and is indeed a bastion of liberal democrat policies
Detroits economy was built on the auto industry and was strong for a very long time
:eek: Most states are broke,including red states like Texas
Its not now because of the decline of the auto industry.If the oil industry were to crash like the auto industry red states like Texas and Louisiana would fall hard as well.

I'll get back on the original topic,you said where does gdp come from and 3 of the stop 5 gdp states are blue states,only 1 is a red state.Texas's biggest city is solidly blue and went to Obama and the current and previous mayors are/were democrats.
Obama and Clinton got FL and Gore was cheated out of it.Its a purple state
