He's wrong and he's long practiced gold buggery. That interview (televised?) probably had commercial breaks with gold sellers. Mistakes are made by the best and he's admitted making them before. Gold isn't currency, hasn't been for a long time.

None of that matters, he can be, and he is, wrong. I could make the same kind of argument from authority, leaning on other widely recognized authorities on economics.

You could, but you haven't. You could even bring up Bernanke's comments about gold if you even knew he made them. I'm waiting for you to drag those out.

You're appealing to authority and it's a stupid argument. You have no credibility in comparison with your hated... well let's just say a Princeton economist. You're in a dead end.
