Let's talk about how politicians and extremists pushed the "Wuhan virus" lab engineered theory to push Asian hate and drive up racist attacks against Asians across the globe. The nonsense being removed on social media were posts pushing extremist nonsense -- articles from mainstream media discussing if the virus escaped from a lab were all left up.

It was the media connecting legitimate questions about the virus to hate crimes
By banning comments about the orgin they implied that the ban was needed to avoid hate crimes
They made that fact up and promoted it

Just like Trump never said to use bleech, but if you only watch CNN they kept telling their viewers that trump said to use bleech , How many viewers watching CNN believed that Trump said that
