Last spring it was impossible to know with certainty what the true origin of the virus was. The question is, why was one theory considered a racist conspiracy and the other taken as scientific fact? Some of us knew the answer then, we all know it now, it was politics. Why was this virus politically weaponized? Some of us knew the answer then, we all know it now. It was used as a campaign strategy.
Fauci was an integral part of this conspiracy and should be under investigation. He is not a doctor, he is a political activist posing as a doctor. If he was a practicing physician he would have been sued for malpractice years ago. He actions are at best reckless and incompetent. At worst, and most likely, criminal.

Seeing that last spring Dr. Fauci briefed World Health Leaders in a meeting on all the possible origins of COVID-19 including the lab leak --- your premise that Fauci was "part of this conspiracy" does not hold any water.
Of course, right-wing extremists are now trying to claim this "meeting" shows that Fauci "knew" it was leaked from a lab -- which is simply untrue. He was simple outlining the theories on proposed origins. This is outlined in mainstream articles from Forbes and other venues -- with former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) head Scott Gottlieb and others outlining the World Health Leader meeting information from last spring.
Donald Trump politically weaponized this virus -- leading to the deaths of over 500,000 Americans as Trump avoided applying proper public health policies and simply spun fringe conspiracy nonsense continually. Would you you like some HCQ or bleach as a cure?

The scientists added that “COVID-19 has a genetic footprint that has never been observed in a natural coronavirus.”
The research points to the genome sequencing of the virus ‘CGG-CGG’, which is one of 36 sequencing patterns observed, but does not occur in nature.
“The CGG-CGG combination has never been found naturally. That means the common method of viruses picking up new skills, called recombination, cannot operate here,” the scientists assert.
“A virus simply cannot pick up a sequence from another virus if that sequence isn’t present in any other virus,” they add, while also noting that the CGG-CGG combination IS commonly used in ‘gain of function’ research, which is known to have been used with coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“Yes, it could have happened randomly, through mutations. But do you believe that?” the authors of the study ask, adding “At the minimum, this fact—that the coronavirus, with all its random possibilities, took the rare and unnatural combination used by human researchers—implies that the leading theory for the origin of the coronavirus must be laboratory escape.”
