Publicly, he sees it as yet another (“Fake News”) media war; privately, he worries about virus-carrying journalists on Air Force One. But cancel his rallies? “I’m not going to do it,” he says.

As Trump pushes a nothing-to-see-here message in public, sources said he’s privately terrified about getting the virus. “Donald is a famous germaphobe. He hates it if someone is eating nachos and dips a chip back in after taking a bite. He calls them ‘double dippers,’” a prominent Republican said. Former Trump aide Sam Nunberg recalled Trump’s response to the last major outbreak in 2014. “When I worked for Trump, he was obsessed with Ebola,” Nunberg told me. (One Mar-a-Lago guest disputed this and said Trump was handshaking with gusto this past weekend. “He was acting like the opposite of a germaphobe,” the source said.)

Stories about Trump’s coronavirus fears have spread through the White House. Last week Trump told aides he’s afraid journalists will try to purposefully contract coronavirus to give it to him on Air Force One, a person close to the administration told me. The source also said Trump has asked the Secret Service to set up a screening program and bar anyone who has a cough from the White House grounds. “He’s definitely melting down over this,” the source said.
 
The guy has lost it. Between the market reaction (which is really all he cares about) and the virus, he's clearly shown himself to be an empty suit.

He could have handled this really easy rather than make it about him.

it is a virus epidemic...basically get out of the way and let CDC and HHS handle the basics and just give a speech pointing out their talking points. Don't put a useless politician (VP) in charge when all he is going to do is ask the experts what to say anyway so cut out the monkey middleman.Sign the bill for some money because that makes everyone happy.


Let the media spin it whatever they want, just hand out the facts. Don't claim you are a genius and know more than anyone and that magic fairies are trying to give you a virus.

What is important is everyone near him hears that their bleach miricle cure for autism works for trumpvirus also.


Actually it really is only a matter of time before he suggests this as a cure to the nation.

Donald Trump claims coronavirus will just ‘go away’ if Americans ‘stay calm’


President Donald Trump was on Capitol Hill begging lawmakers for a stimulus package to save the stock market from continuing its decline. Yet, at the same time, he said that everything was fine and would go away soon.

“Just stay calm – it will go away,” said Trump. “It’s really working out.”

Trump has pitched the idea of a payroll tax, but there’s no chance of it happening without Democrats involved and he hasn’t met with them as of yet.

“We’ve also had some very good updates on the virus, that it’s working out very smoothly,” Trump told the press. “Tremendous people. It’s a tremendous task force. They have done a great job. Not a good job. A great job. As you know, it’s about 600 cases. It’s about 26 deaths within our country. And had we not acted quickly, that number would have been substantially more.”

Trump’s former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Bossert is warning that hospitals are about to “get creamed.”

In fact, John’s Hopkins shows the U.S. is closing in on 800 cases of coronavirus.
