Because he's surrounded himself with an echo chamber. No one will disagree with him, and he'll never get good advice unless he stumbles upon it on his own. He fires anyone who tells him something he doesn't want to hear.

He simply doesn't know how to take good advise. I'm sure there are some heated discussions behind closed doors. He's just too obtuse.

This is the problem with coming up through the CEO channel. CEOs tend to be used to everyone kissing up to them and not challenging them. They mistake their company's success (from their team's work) as being from their own personal genius.
