I like in the U.K so I think I am qualified to say that he is correct. The U.K (especially London) is a police state. On the average round trip into the centre of london and back you are captured on average 300 times on CCTV. If you are putting too much in your bins some local councils are using Terrorism laws that permit them to spy on you and land you in court with a huge fine. I would say though that Euro is even more of a police state, I was in Spain over christmas with friends and we were stopped "routinely" by police and told that we were being taken to jail for not carrying our identification cards. When U.K rolls out the i.d cards we will be living in 1939 german police state.
The Spaniards are just fed up with the drunken Brits puking all over their coastline.
But seriously, this is a movement that is taking place all over the world.
The Chinese, when asked if their police state policies didnt reflect Berlin 1940 simply responded no we are just coppying London City 2008.
I guess the rubber will stretch as far as it can and then breaks.

The brits are the frog in the water. If you put a frog into a pan of boiling water it will immediately leap out. If you put it in a pan of nice warm water and slowly raise the temperature it will adjust and recognise the new temperature as the norm. If you continue to raise the temperature slowly like this, by the time the frog realises it is dying it is too late and the frog literally boils.
Almost everyone I know in britain accepts the police state as normal, and they don't question it. I know of many people who think the I.D card will be great in britain because they won't have to worry about a terrorist stealing their identity etc.
