Not at all. My problem is when duty is used to coerce and manipulate and bully the meek and the peaceful. Worse, it is when money is used to fund the military simply to create a market well beyond the needs of a nation at the expense of every day needs.

 
Boy we can superimpose a bunch of demographics that would be the same states including the following;

education level

intelligence

economic recovery since 2008 financial crisis

religiosity

political affiliation

tolerance of gays and a woman's right to an abortion

gun nuttery


I'm sure there is more. I would say xenophobia but that would not be fair given the proximity to Mexico.
 
So you're saying that atheists, homosexuals, Univ of Missouri scholars don't want to defend the country? Ok. I can buy that.

You left out one group, though. Believers in global warming. I'm guessing they wouldn't want to defend the country, either.
