Seattle protest zone keeping businesses shut is 'a sad state of affairs,' Ari Hoffman says
Former city council candidate Ari Hoffman said on Wednesday that the Seattle Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone is a “sad state of affairs" and is far more dangerous at night.
“A friend of mine told me yesterday, who lives in the area, he says he never goes outside after 8 o'clock at night without a firearm. That’s a sad state of affairs of how he has to live his day-to-day life,” Hoffman told “Fox & Friends.”
Hoffman said that businesses in the CHOP area have been closed even after trying to open up or rebound from the government-mandated economic shutdown.
“Now they can’t reopen because they can’t get trucks in, they can’t get cars in, they can’t guarantee the safety of their employees. Trader Joe's nearby said they can’t guarantee the safety of their employees and they closed indefinitely,” Hoffman said.
Hoffman reacted to the city of Seattle and CHOP protesters reaching an agreement that will remove temporary roadblocks and replace them with concrete barriers.

Unfortunately, these are the asshats front and center and people are able to point to them and say "see? This is what your defund the police does. This is where democrats lead you. This is where BLM takes us." And that isn't the truth. These are morons that have hijacked the movement and are able to declare themselves representatives of the movement. If I were a democrat politician I'd be out there denouncing these people as lunatics and saying "this isn't what we are trying to accomplish!" But the silence from the left just allows the right narrative to continue. And so here we are.
And it is going to get more and more absurd until someone on the left who has significant influence stands up and says "These people do not represent our views."
The problem is that people are too afraid of the cancel culture. But momentum is building swiftly in a counter movement.
