Disagreeing with a leftist will have one being called a racist, nazi, xenophobe, sexist, white supremacist and what not. I don't recall you objecting to that ever.
Political discussions tend to bring out the worst in people, does not mean you have to go down to their levels, show them there are other ways, set an example.

This is the dilemma. We can take the high road, ala McCain, Bush, Romney, and let them slander us and just turn the other cheek. How did that work out?
Or we can fight with fire, Trump-style. It carries its own risks but at least we go down swinging and the other side carries deep wounds from the battle. Plus, our supporters at least know someone is fighting for them.
Setting an example sounds great, but negative attack ads are run for a reason. They work. It's hard to counter TV ads showing the candidate pushing an elderly lady in a wheelchair off a cliff with a reasoned discussion of entitlement reform.
Don't know what the final results will be but right now both McCain and Romney are doing much better than Trump at this time and Trump is in a much better position to win than republican cadidates in 08 and 2012.If Romney was your nominee right now you would probably have a 50-50 shot or better to win.With Trump you have around a 15 % chance.
This is what you guys don't get. We will take our freakin' chances with Trump because he is the ONLY candidate who is serious about stopping illegal immigration and applying common sense controls to muslim immigration. I'm sure the republican establishment desperately wishes some cuck like Romney or Jeb Bush was the candidate so they could get some cush jobs and do the bidding of their corporate masters, but we are done with that.
We already have "common sense" controls on immigration.
I'm supposed to accept a certain amount of gun deaths every year for the sake of the 2nd Amendment. So you accept a certain amount of terrorism for the sake of humanitarianism.

The point is, if we did manage to elect another Bush/Romney/McCain/Ryan instead of losing with Trump, we are going to get pretty much the same thing. Open borders, amnesty, more muslims, more wars, maybe even a nuclear war with Russia.

I agree you likely would have gotten those polices with the names you mentioned .With the exception of dole losing 4 of the last 6 elections has more to do with changing demographics,a major third party cadidate and bush being so awful than the cadidates imo.You got the cadidate that you wanted this time and he is likely to lose worse than the last 2 while being in a much better position to win.
