In a five game series, any team can win the series since randomness is a big factor. The expectations are that the Cubs win in 4.

The Cubs are the undisputed best team in baseball this year. More often than not the best team doesn't win the world series because, as you have stated, anything can happen in a short series. I'm not a Cubs fan but I would like to see them win it this year. The city will go nuts. If they don't, keep those Cub fans away from sharp objects and if they lose it because of some fluke play or crazy call there may be blood. The curse of the goat won't go away easily.

Well there is this one statistic that says that no 100+ win baseball team has ever won the WS. Not one. I have theory though:

I think the reason is that 100+ teams are so tired come October, that the pitchers are running on fumes. I think Joe Maddon learned from last season, and has rested his pitchers with the intent of having a more leisurely regular season, for the purpose of having them strong in the post season. That, and we have a starting rotation as good as any.

And that is why I think there is going to be a party in Chicago this year!

I am a fan. I might suggest that Cub fans should avoid reaching into the stadium to nab foul balls that might otherwise be caught. Go Cubs!!!!

Game 2, watching MLB network. Why won't the announcers shut the fuck up just for 5 or 6 seconds? It's non stop. Plus, a cutaway during a homerun for run 5 Cubs?! Why are you showing a side interview during a pitch? WTF? Come on!! This is as bad as trying to watch fights on HBO. Announcers, just please shut the fuck up long enough for us to study the emotion of the combatants without your fucking bullshit story telling and opinions. :mad:

It's one thing to talk about what's happening now, but the entire history of the guy at bat between pitches, COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bob Costas was the announcer. He knows his history, but a little less talk during the game would be greatly appreciated. Almost turned off the game it was so annoying. It totally robs the enjoyment of it.

It used to be so bad that people in Chicago turned off the TV sound, watched the game on TV but listened to the game from the local radio announcers.

I think these guys are just trying to add color. But in the old days, they wouldn't give the Cubs the time of day.

I was living in SE Wisconsin when I first listened to the Cubs on radio. I was only 10 or 11, but often after being sent to bed, I'd listen to the Cub's night games on WLS on a little pocket AM radio under the covers at real low volume so my parents wouldn't hear it. Didn't care much about facial expressions at that age, just wanted them to win.
