Not just any banks all over the world! Central banks. That's a critical distinction. Just as our trading partners' Central Banks work with the Fed to facilitate foreign exchange and make sure we have adequate reserves to facilitate trade, it is doubly important that the Fed maintain similar facilities because the U.S. dollar is still the major currency for international transactions.

The petition, posted on Change.org, charges that Bill Clinton made a "clear, knowing and egregious violation of the campaign laws to swing an election in a significant way."

a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Those banks that look to you like just any foreign bank are owned by governments and other central banks, they are not just any foreign bank. The purpose of the Fed actions was to assure liquidity and prevent a worldwide financial catastrophe. The Fed would have in time released all of this information, but the Fed naturally does not want to call attention to banks that are in financial trouble, because that can make the situation even worse! These banks might have, without prompt Fed action, become insolvent because some of their U.S. dollar denominated assets, though not worthless, suffered a temporary loss of liquidity. The Fed was brilliant in preventing a horrible international collapse of the world's financial system. The Fed under Greenspan was largely responsible for the crisis by failure to regulate, and the responsibility for correcting the mess created under Greenspan's watch fell to Bernanke. Bernanke was masterful in seeing that liquidity was maintained throughout the crisis. Again, these are not just any foreign owned bank. The Fed did not give any of these banks money, they loaned money against discounted assets that had temporarily become ill-liquid.

Pie, may I remind you that you assured us that obamacare could not be used by illegals? After all, that is what the law said. You seemed astounded that they ignored it and got free benefits anyway.

Illegals without U.S. born children can't qualify, can they? I was astounded that adult illegals with citizen children could qualify for welfare outside of the emergency room. I don't know anything about them qualifying for Obamacare, but possibly they can qualify for subsidized premiums. I would think it is medicaid that most of them are qualifying for. gwb explained it very nicely to me. Apparently their citizen, minor children qualify their illegal parents for medical welfare. I understand that children born to two illegals in the U.S. are automatically given citizenship according to the way the constitution is now being interpreted. I am personally opposed to this, as I believe this is a misreading of the Constitution. I expect this to be eventually tested in the higher courts.

go through the list of the first 20 institutions and tell us which ones are central banks.

I guess if the shoe fits. I just can't for the life of me figure out why any court would rule that any child born on American soil to parents here illegally is a natural born citizen. We don't confer citizenship on children born to diplomats while present in the U.S. Do we confer citizen ship on children born to foreign tourists while they on the teacup ride at disney world.? (I suppose that doesn't happen very often.)
