Other than your first part. "Murder rate is a cultural issue", your posting is patently false.
 
Tony, do you know (or has it been reported) that this guy purchased his guns legally? Because I know he was a felon (previously arrested for attempted murder) and that would indicate he had illegal possession of the firearms.

Do you agree or disagree?
 
The large pool of legal firearms is a big source of the pool of illegal firearms. Penalize legal firearm owners for improper storage, transportation, failing to register, failing to report theft, etc., and that pool of illegal firearms would begin to shrink.
 
FWIW, I always saw the 2nd's notion of existing to depose despots as a "it's possible, so I see the need". Trump made me see it as "it's probable, so there's definitely a need".

I have no disagreements with this at all. Penalize those who cannot properly store and keep safe, their firearms. Not just against theft but children who are injured/killed from it.

This is a stupid reason to own a firearm. You can't defend yourself against the government, should it decide to come for you.
