Mark Fisher (MBF) Study
Mark B. Fisher, founder and CEO of MBF Clearing Corp, is one of the industry’s leading traders and technical analysts. There isn’t much that Fisher hasn’t done in his almost 35 years in the industry.
At age 12, he was a runner on the floor of COMEX. At 21, he was the youngest trader ever in the silver futures pit. At The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, he developed a trading method still in use today.
In addition to founding MBF Clearing (an FCM) in 1987, he has managed his own proprietary trading group, created industry products, and launched a CTA.
A speaker, teacher, author, and gifted strategist, Fisher is known and admired around the world.
CQG is excited to offer, in conjunction with Fisher, the MBF study. A combination of bricks and volume bars, this study differentiates itself from other studies with a flexible variable time scale, rather than fixed.
The MBF study shows the duration of the price range movement overlaid over a regular chart. It allows users to analyze time the market spent trading within the MBF specified price range in conjunction with the “unrestricted” price movement. These price durations are drawn on a chart as variable time bricks displayed over the underlined chart. The study comes with volume calculation that separately tracks buy and sell volume that occurred within MBF brick price range and the volume that occurred outside the MBF price range.
