Do you use a different time frame to trade the open or do you consider the pre-open action as part of your setup.

Can't imagine you would give up the first hour of trading with only four bars to look at.

15 minute chart only.
I use the all sessions chart. The "first hour" of day begins at 3:30 CST.

Using multiple timeframes is the only way to consistent profits. In some markets the 15 will be suitable, in others you may need to use a 5min chart. I agree that a 15 is great for filtering out the noise but I have the most success when I am able to identify trades on the daily or 60min and use the 5min and 15min to time in. Using multiple timeframes is very important

Multiple timeframes are great, if that works for you. Whatever helps you get reasonable risk is all that matters.
