Technical Strategy

Well that's a blast from the past! If I'd waited too much longer, I'd have started breaking down fat stores :p

I printed the three charts you mentioned, together with Ehorn's, and have spent 90 minutes or so comparing them. Surprising how much you can learn simply from perusing the charts of other learning practitioners. I've made a few positive comments on a print of my own chart, and if Spyder posts his version, I'll shade the corresponding regions.

I leave for work in a few hours, so will begin the drill tomorrow. If only I could condition my body to function on less sleep, could be so much more productive!!... Will ensure that the ten charts, abbreviated logs and third curve are done before the end of the weekend.

That is a good debrief. Notes are all worthwhile as so was that comparison of the 5 charts.

Here's another one. My timezone means this is a hindsight chart. As you will be told, it therefore has no value obviously :p (Funny then that it took me well over an hour to annotate properly this fine Saturday morning.)

Tapes and internals tell.

Thanks, PointOne. I hadn't realized how illuminating it could be to look at the same day through several sets of eyes. I find my brain almost automatically constructing some sort of composite, moving lines, adding annotations... At the risk of sounding blasphemous, I think it was even more useful than looking at the 'answer sheet'.

I've got a very visual memory, and as an added benefit, I feel that after the time spent analysing the static charts, I could not only recreate the chart from memory, but recreate five different versions, and have a fair idea how each of those practitioners would annotate a brand new chart.

I'm also having trouble understanding how someone could genuinely disconnect Monitoring and Analysis without a log or similar construct.

I look forward to the added insights that the next drill will provide.
