Maybe you need to read the article... even the school administrators in the hearing failed to call the individual by their new gender pronoun. Maybe they need to fire all the administrators also. After all the policy needs to be consistent -- anyone who violates it needs to be canned.
If the teacher in this case insisted on calling the student by the pronoun of their former agenda then maybe the school system would have a case. The teacher agreed to call the student by their given name which is what is required by federal and state standards.
The lawsuit that comes out of this case is going to be magnificent and game-changing for the U.S. public education system -- in squashing the idioticy being pushed by left-wing administrators in public schools and the sizable financial punishment that will be inflicted for violating a teacher's rights.

The school board has no legal grounds for firing the teacher. .. they were simply driving their personal political agenda.
This situation is going to blow up badly on this school system in the court system and will lead to significant financial damages being awarded. A situation the school board and administrators could have avoided by following federal and state law.

This is a choice the child should make when they are 18 years old or greater; it should not be forced on them by the parents. It is one thing to get a child counseling; it is something different to engage in surgery before the child has even arrived at an age to firmly establish their sexual identity.
It is time that legal action was taken against parents who engage in this type of gender surgery before the child is of legal age.

This is because the left has conflated gender identity crisis with sexual orientation all in order to increase numbers in a political class of people. One may or may not ultimately find themselves sexually attracted to the same sex, those choices being confined to two, male or female. Not knowing or believing that one is neither male or female is a mental illness and should be treated as such. Parents, teachers, and any adult who encourages minors to pursue gender transformation is guilty of child abuse and endangerment.
Yes, this is a public school. The teacher has a very strong case for wrongful termination. Federal and state law only requires that the teacher uses the student's given name. Federal and state guidelines urge teachers not to use gender pronouns in the classroom to avoid bias based on the child's gender.
This teacher agreed to fully comply with federal and state law & guidelines by calling the child by their given name. He was not deliberately calling the child by the pronoun for their former gender. The teacher has a very strong case for wrongful termination and significant damages.
This is a case when it reaches court that will shake the entire public education system and make administrators aware of the limits of pushing their political agenda while trampling the legal rights of teachers.
