Finally got back on track with a winning day.

Started to automate the stock scanning mechanism today. Plan to do a major shift away from static only stock selections to a dynamic system. Have 3 completed out of a possible 160 selections. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day.

Second positive day in a row. Worked on fine tuning the stock scanning system today. Had to remap the 3 stocks from yesterday. Expect the system to provide some good long and shorting opportunities once fully operational. Looking for a good day tomorrow.

I've noticed that you put a large amount of your total capital into each trade..do you have a specific stop loss % or dollar amount ?
This has been a terrible week for my account, it has erased all my gains and then some for the last 2 weeks prior..I violated rule #1 about using a stop loss, then I held my positions overnight which is not a rule but I may make it one...
 
When trading I don't think about the capital that is going into the trade. I am only concerned about the intraday risk (range). I take advantage of the 4x1 intraday and 2x1 overnight margins when needed. Every trade that is initiated a stop loss point is placed. If adding volume to an existing position one should also have an emergency stop loss set in case of a market crash. The stop loss point I use is not always static. At times I will adjust it depending on the chart view. Intraday trading is tough. I worked intraday in the SIM for a number of years. Part of the evolvement process as a trader is to go to longer time frames. There is better returns especially in a volume scaling system. Hope you have a better go next week.

Third positive day in a row. Have 9 stocks mapped in the scanning system. Had some early execution errors with (A) that ate in today's profit. On a side note, the previous 8 day losing streak that ended early in the week produced some of my best trading strategies to date. I'm looking forward to next week's action.

Going forward I'm hoping to challenge that 87K level again within the next 2 weeks.

Small gain today. Not a bad day considering the market started off strong and slowly went negative. Even with the positive employment numbers. 100% of the trades right now are to the upside. Looking forward to having a hedge account to take advantage of shorting days, gap up opportunities, etc. Tweaking of the charting/scanning system has been completed. Looking to hit that 86K level next week.
