If Trump broke a law, I'll be the first one saying the man should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But I would also like to see the law and the scrutiny applied equally to both sides - and I don't believe it is. Or has been. And that is one of the biggest reasons people support Trump.

Fair enough. But what other side are you referring to, specifically?
 
Trump is running the federal budget like he ran his failing businesses. The key difference is businesses can declare bankruptcy and welch on their obligations. The government cannot. American tax payers will have to pay for all of this, just a matter of when.

The other side that is against Trump - which is essentially everyone else in politics on the right and the left. Lets see who takes advantage of all the loopholes. And lets put out there who voted FOR those loopholes.

As for the American tax payers and the national debt, yep. We're screwed. But this isn't something that started with Trump came to office. Obama, Bush, hell...go back a long, long time.

We're not worried about loopholes here. For better or worse, loopholes are in place to be taken advantage of. The question is whether fraud has been perpetrated. That is what remains to be seen. Who on the other side are you implicitly accusing of fraud?

I'm not implicitly accusing anyone of fraud. I also don't think Trump is guilty of fraud. If he is, I have no doubt it will eventually be outed (either when he leaves office or otherwise). But if there is going to be outrage of the way he took advantage of the loopholes that are there, we should examine all of the politicians who are outraged to see what loopholes they take advantage of. We should also look to see how those politicians voted on loopholes that Trump took advantage of, if they are so outraged.

At the end of the day, we should be questioning the Tax Code that allows business owners of doing things like the NYT is accusing Trump of. Unless, of course, you believe that 70k for haircuts should be allowed as a deduction.

Pelosi has the power to bring this to the House. I don't expect she will be doing so any time soon. Why is that?

The Times article suggests that more information is required to arrive at a definitive conclusion regarding a question of fraud. However, there is no question that Trump is an inept businessman. That much has been shown in the piece. He's a lousy businessman who would never have elevated himself from a plaid used-car salesman's sports jacket were it not for his old man. And even with those advantages, he continued to burn through whatever money was thrown into his lap.

On top of this, we know he's a habitual liar with absolutely no scruples. And yet this man is the president? Go figure.
