The truth is that all of this went too fast but we always knew the taliban was going to take Afghanistan back. The real loss, and yes this is a big mistake/loss/fuck up on Biden’s part is that we are leaving with no good intelligence gathering in place. That is the major loss. There was always going to be chaos.
Bid win for the Chinese here too. Lots of rare earth minerals in Afghanistan amd the Chinese are set to move in.
The truth still holds, it’s not our country and our cultures just do not match or even agree. Had to leave. The Afghan forces knew they were doomed and didn’t hold off the taliban long enough for us to have a clean withdrawal and that’s because they ain’t stupid a d don’t owe us (America) anything. So they dropped their weapons and handed over literally billions in weapons and vehicles and other provisions to a bunch of right wing conservatives. That’s the whole self preservation thing in the face of impending doom. Cowards really but alive cowards not willing to get killed for foreign invaders in the process of withdrawing.
