Nobody claimed so about the supposed power over teenagers of a statue. One is about freedom of choice and expression. Another is about providing a social environment that causes the least grief. You won't die missing your beloved flag but the removal makes someone else's day brighter.

you can put your embraced relic of the past as screensaver on your computer and play some brass band melodies in the background. I will even get you a nice hat and sword so you can re-enact all the past battles at home.

I don't live in Germany nor pay much attention to German news or media. Hey is it true that your kind sometime during early adulthood starts to research your ancestry tree like a maniac as if you are an incomplete human being if you don't know where your grandgrandgrandgrandgrand father came from? Do you have German blood within you? Oh...3.134%? Or perhaps Greek blood?
