Nearly all of the 20" UXGA (1600x1200) screens are high quality... IPS or VA panels.

Good deals are on HP LP2065 and Planar PL2010M/PL2011M. The difference in the Planar models is in the stand.

If you buy 4 at once check with MacMall.com... they might give you a discount.

The favorite display of mine for quality is the Planar PL 2010M. I also have a Planar PX2411W and 5, LP2065s.... They are good but chosen mostly because of rebate deal.

If cost is not a concern. 24's offer 20% more display capability for 50% and more cost.... unless you step down to TN panels

I AGREE with everything that Gnome has said above . . . and I actually own a 36 Gig Western Digital "Raptor" that is currently in my old Dell Dimension 8300 with XP.

Most trading apps just are not very hard drive intensive at all. Moreover, the 36 Gigs is more than enough room for me. I've had this drive for nearly 5 years and only have used 23 Gigs of it!

Can't wait to receive my new T3400 Precision Workstation on Monday!

That is an AMAZING deal!!!
Comes with XP Pro too, which is very cool.

You can always upgrade the processor later to one of Intel's latest 2.66 or 3.00 Dual-Core chips for about $250 on New Egg. But only $519 for a Precision workstation that gives you a TON of flexibility is pretty dirt cheap!

Maybe I should give up my old ways and think about multiple widescreens. We've come a little ways since my first computer, an Atari 400 with membrane keyboard and a cassette tape for storage.

My trading apps run off of a cheapo eMachines with Celeron, 1G RAM, on 865G chipset. Even when I used this rig to trade on dialup, it was never a problem. (My data and charting apps run from a newer C2D, 4-monitor rig.)

If you want to "deluxe up" your trading rig, you'll get more use out of high quality workstation video cards and better monitors than you will out of faster hardware.

Dell kind of "cracked the mold" on the T3400. For an "entry level" workstation, it's well featured and has the new X38 mobo.
