I guess I remembered wrong. I looked it up, Nepal has only 43 cases, zero death. I guess the article probably said zero death, not zero cases. My bad. The point is Nepal has a population 3 times of Sweden, yet no death and only 4 dozen cases!!!
Because they locked down at the end of January!!! Sweden has 1765 deaths as of now with 15K cases.
Reading part of the wikipedia article it seems Nepal is largely unable to test for the virus, so it is hard to compare. Anyway so far Sweden neighbours which are probably better points of comparison with more restrictions on borders and daily life have registered less coronavirus deaths.I m not arguing that point
Except the WHO now said immunity may not exist even after you recover from infection.
There goes herd immunity.
Anyone that talks about "herd immunity" needs to first learn about it.

Thus, without vaccination...herd immunity is not a good alternative. In fact, not discussed in the above article...it often fails to develop.
Another way to look at it, you can not force (create) herd immunity on a population if there's no vaccination. Too many false narratives floating around here at Elitetrader.com and elsewhere that if there's no vaccination...herd immunity is the alternative solution.
I learned the following in Immunology 501 in college and its critical to the understanding of herd immunity...
“Unlike vaccination, herd immunity does not give a high level of individual protection, and so it is not a good alternative to getting vaccinated,” - Vaccine Knowledge Project
