Quote from The_Coin:

The thing is that, mankind is so wretched, weak and hanging on by a thread...

Life is so mysterious it boggles the human mind: Why are we here? How did we get here? Why is all this going on? How did it start? Will it ever end? Will MTC ever give me a BJ? Why is there death? What IS death?

In this condition, it is these type questions that reduce mankind to mere groveling slime paste so we, or rather, they, like to think of the concept of "God" for comfort.

That does NOT mean He does not exist or that the Gospel is not true... it is just that mankind is in ultimate weakness in face of very harsh mysteries and realities found on this planet we call Earth.

Excellent questions. The one question mankind is most afraid to ask is, "Who am I"? All choices - all - bear directly on how this is defined.

There is a choice to see oneself as groveling slime...or as equal with God. Ultimate weakness, vs ultimate strength. If equal with God, then you can understand how you got here. If you no longer choose harshness, you can begin to transmute it into Heaven.

Notice how most choices are geared toward making you a mere "man" among "mankind", different and less than God. It's a choice to be a seeker, a not-knower, an asker of questions, a non-conscious creator...whenever you choose to deny who you are. There is much dodging, wiggling, and sidestepping this issue. Yet you remain a creator, ceaselessly creating. And you are the only one with the power to keep yourself imprisoned.

The gospel is: You can choose again.

Jesus

thanks for the kool-aid jeez :) but you're right about getting 'beyond' the 'is there a supreme creator?' question...

we'd better start getting our heads together and start thinking about which predator may spot us first in this universe, and wipe us out as is the rule... wonder whether they'll be carbon-based? or whether they'll just blow our "surroundings" apart without even noticing us... and thats if we are lucky :)
