Just wanted to mention for the benefit of DTB2, Laces, B1S2, etc., that the Republicans could call Hunter if they wanted to. But they won't, even if by some miracle they agreed to allowing witnesses to be called.
There is no truth behind their innuendos that Hunter had something to do with Burisma corruption. Therefore they won't call him, even though they exercise control over whether witnesses will be called.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer unloaded on Fox News for keeping Republican senators in line against President Donald Trump’s impeachment.
Schumer told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that many of his GOP colleagues are hearing the impeachment evidence for the first time, because they rely on Fox News for their information.
“This is the first time probably a majority of Republicans have heard the whole case start to finish,” he said. “They’ve heard bits and pieces. Many of them hear it on Fox News, and we know what Fox News does. They leave out the most damning parts against the president, and they even distort some of them.”
“Here’s what’s amazed us,” Schumer said. “I started four weeks ago on this campaign for witnesses and documents, when I sent a letter to (Senate Majority Leader Mitch) McConnell. I called (House Speaker) Nancy (Pelosi) that night and said I’m going to do it. She said, great — she agrees, and I’ve been pleasantly and strongly surprised how much support this is getting.”
Schumer called the GOP majority’s bluff in calling Hunter Biden, who Trump smeared in his Ukraine scheme, to testify before the impeachment trial.
“Let me just say this,” he said. “The witnesses that we have asked for are eyewitness, like Mick Mulvaney, to everything that happened, and the few Republicans, there are some, who are saying, ‘Well, I don’t know if this is all really true, it’s all secondhand,’ which it isn’t, but still, every one of these witnesses, these documents, will answer this directly. Hunter Biden has nothing to do with this.”
“By the way, and people forget this,” Schumer added. “The Republicans could call Hunter Biden on their own, they have 53 votes. You know why they don’t? Because they know that will just confirm to every American that everything the president is doing has done in this whole sad saga, everything the president’s lawyers are doing, everything the Republican senators are doing is just political.

Lindsey Graham has openly stated/opined that he will/is willing to call Hunter before a Senate Committee/s if he does not appear as part of the impeachment trial. So, lots of Republicans are beginning to think that they don't necessarily have to bargain anything away just to get Hunter or Joe for that matter.
There is also a major risk on the part of dems that they may enter into some kind of tit for tat witness agreement. So the republicans "give up" Mulvaney and Bolton for example but they get Hunter. Then the President successfully blocks Mulvaney and Bolton from testifying or ties it up for a long time in the courts. So what does that do to the agreement then? Or are the Dems going to argue "well we were not able to get some of the witnesses you agreed to so we get some more." Ahhh, good luck wit dat. That's your problem.

President Donald Trump’s personal attorney appeared Friday morning on Fox News, where he expanded on the conspiracies that form the heart of the impeachment case against the president.
Co-host Steve Doocy persistently tried to cut Giuliani off to ask a question, but the president’s lawyer continued ranting anti-Biden conspiracies.
“Then we have got another bribe,” he said. “You don’t think the president of the Ukraine shared in that $5 billion that the crook kept?”
“The bribe to the president of the Ukraine, the amount of money I can’t be absolutely sure of,” Giuliani said, stumbling enough to allow Doocy to finally cut in. “Let’s say well in excess of $10 million.”
Doocy tried to redirect Giuliani, who regained his footing.
“That shouldn’t be revealed?” Giuliani said. “From a lawyer who finds out about this? Am I going to cover it up the way the Democrats and media cover it up? Absolutely not. I prosecuted too many corruption cases to sit by and watch my country sold out by a vice president who did it two other times, at least, in China.”
Co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked how the saga would end, and Giuliani said he hoped Biden would land under investigation.
“You don’t think if these things were said about Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. they wouldn’t be under investigation immediately?” Giuliani said. “Instead of putting them under investigation, they are coming after me. They want to kill me.”
Doocy nervously interrupted, and asked when Giuliani would provide proof of his claims.
“Today at noon I will give an introduction,” he said. “Starting next week I will present witnesses, I have them all on tape. We will reveal one at a time, we will show there were two bribes. Not one, actually three.”

This is incomplete and in some aspects wrong. Where did you get this timeline from?
And here we go with the Lindsey Graham plan that that I alluded to above.
The headlines are that he will oppose calling Hunter Biden, but the subtext - not to be missed- is that he wants to call Hunter later. ie before a Senate Committee. That way he does not muck up the impeachment trial or trade anything away for something he can get for free over at a Senate Committee. Oh, and guess whose committee it would be. Think the Senate Judiciary Committee...chaired by Lindsey Graham.

I specifically said I heard Schiff or making those points about the president's motivation them on the radio.
I could not believe that was the argument. It was almost irrelevant.
My point is:
Whether Trump's primary motivation was personal gain or national security...
is not dispositive of a crime and constitutionally does not lead to an impeachable offense.
How do I know that?
The democrats did not allege a crime in their articles.
They have essentially alleged bad form and to support their argument they are asking us to discern Trump's state of mind and conclude what he was doing was (only) for personal gain.

Many legitimate things a president does could be said lead to personal gain.
Many things Joe Biden did lead to personal or family gain.
Many things Obama did lead to gains for kerry and the clintons.
