I think it will help some (walmart greeters) and hurt others who will lose their jobs through automation or export. Others will see increased prices which will hurt their standard of living.
So Walmart comes with higher prices? is that now the argument? When Walmart comes into town the prices just explodes puts everyone out of business, dirty corporations.

You don't think businesses will pass on their higher labor costs to their customers? Especially after everyone's labor costs goes up.
So then you agree there is no need for minimum wage laws???? I mean if the cost just gets passed on too consumers, why raise the minimum wage, doesnt that just mean inflation?
Are you against increasing the minimum wage? I couldn't tell as you've been talking in cryptic extremes while I am talking in the middle.
I do not believe we should have a $15 minimum wage.

But yest i definitely believe raising minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour is one of the stupidest economic decisions of all time.
Too say that "Walmart" or "McDonalds" are lowering wages just shows a gross misunderstanding of the economy in my opinion.
They do pay wages that are too low to live on. But there are lots of firms that don't do that and raising the wages on wmt and Mcdonalds will cause wages on those firms to rise. Typically those are the good manufacturing jobs trump is touting.
Instead I think the government should be building education and training incentives to get people to move from working at Walmart to working as machinists, mechanics, welders, etc. I don't think that is in trump's agenda but it is on many local governments' and entrepreneurs. Whoever figures that out will make hundreds of millions.
Well maybe that is something we can agree on, I think anyone who actually is willing to work, and trying to further their life should have the opportunity to do so. In my eyes McDonalds or Walmart dont need to have higher wages, but people who work there need more opportunity....IF they want it.
BTW.... i know many "Machinists welders, and mechanics" who make six figures, nothing wrong with that line of work, i wish i had a legitimate skill other than trading the stock market as a 33 year old day trader who realises i have nothing on my resume if this falls through.

Agreed. And that opportunity exists! I was meeting with a mayor of a manufacturing centric town yesterday. His number one problem was finding qualified people for the manufacturing firms in his town. I hear it all over the country. There isn't enough skilled and semi-skilled labor. I wouldn't be surprised if it's hampering our GDP.
