people that are sicker have less muscle mass, no sh^t? they are bedridden. they die more often.

not of less muscle mass, BUT OF THEIR ILLNESS.

people that have more muscle mass are not necessarily healthier. Or live longer.

unless, they are healthy, and not bedridden.
 
The Masai tribe of East Africa consume 200g or so of protein a day as so does the average Texan male.

Both seem to be healthy.

People that are healthy are active, robust and maintain more muscle mass.

They are not healthy because they have more muscle mass, they have more muscle mass because they are healthy.

There are health benefits to being fit? cardio & strength training? Certainly. However additional health drops off quick I think.
