Aw c'mon, didn't ya know that GG was jes' kidding, the spin was that he was drunk when he made that promise, yeah that's the ticket.... I look forward to his other statements and promises because I know I can trust them just as much. Have to admit, tho, Gekko Da Millionaire has a nice ring to it. :p

I don't want to start an argument, but how can this be a 'private' forum? Its got all the makings of a 'public' forum to me. I bet if someone pushed things they could make a real issue out of what you just said.

Blackguard I think I understand where you are comng from, and first let me say that I am not speaking for EliteTrader or Baron on this matter. This is just two people discussing your topic. EliteTrader as I understand it is private property. Something to that effect is in the thing you agree to when you join. The rules governing private property are not the same as they are for public property. Whereas you may go into the public square of your town and orate, you may not do so on my front lawn, unless I give you permission.

I'll leave it at that because I recognize that there will always be alternative opinions, and thats what puts two lawyers to work. Heck, if some fat 300 lb teenager can eat at McDonalds 2-3 times a day and then sue because she is fat, I am sure some attorney would love to tackle a "Boo hoo, my post was deleted" complaint.

Edit: Folks, I am planning on closing the thread after the market tomorrow. Good luck to everyone. And again, thanks for the support. :)

Just do it inandlong, you have my support. Flames should be removed under the original ET instruction given to moderators (fighting language) - this is not new at all, it is just hard to implement in a forum that is this active. I'd also suggest making extensive use of the split feature to split off threads that follow possibly interesting tangents into the appropriate forums, but that aren't really adding to the core topic in question. Tangents that aren't worth pursuing will tend to die of their own accord or get moved to Chat.

It's funny how those who are part of the problem seem to instantly rattle off all the (old, tired) objections to moderation. ET is at its best when an interesting, insightful thread starts, expands and is added to over time by many contributors who learn from each other's experiences. ET is at its worst when a good thread turns into a crappy thousand page thread dominated by a few hyper posters, and full of off topic tangental belly lint.

I went away for 4 months and am surprised to how much crap is now on the boards. This use to be a great board, but now I just see it’s a lot of people from the yahoo boards - ashame
