if Baron approves of ridding ET of 'crap', wouldn't everyone have to re-register as this new protocol would be completely different from the one everyone is registered for already? :-/

The number of members who are complaining about the riff-raff on ET is growing, and their voice is becoming louder.

Although I think the number of older members posting has been increasing because of a decrease in the tolerance for crap to be posted, there remains a large number who are tired of the threads going downhill because of the crap. I am one of them.

From now on, the Trading Forum is not going to tolerate crap. Hatefulness, bashing, animosity, etc., etc., you guys all know what crap is. Crap isn't humor. Smart-mouth replies are crap. Replies that are made from the safety of the keyboard that would otherwise find the poster being slapped around a bit in the real world. I guarantee that if we were all face to face, most of this stuff would stop. But from behind the keyboard, there are so many tough guys. Just like the wimps that flip you off in the car and then race away.

And I expect some support from the other members too, instead of leaving me out there to swing when the crying and whining starts. Please, do me a favor, if you don't like the way it is going to be done, take it to Baron. Instead of whining in a post which I will delete, PM me or take it to Baron.

But the crap stops today. Thanks EliteTraders.

I completely agree. Before I became a member of ET I used to dig through the posts and could find something of value, something I could learn from, that's why I decided to become a member of such a great community. Nowadays you'll find crap from both sides, read : posters and repliers .Things have changed in a big manner unfortunately not for good. Its amazing how the initial idea of what seems to be a worth thread is distortioned and turned into a personal confrontation between the so called " versed traders". What a shame!!!

whose fault is that in your opinion? the person who replies in the "inappropriate" manner or those who respond to the "off topic" poster once he does reply?

disclaimer: in no way does my reply show support for repression of creativity as suggested by my reply

Both , actually !! :)

The rule of thumb should always be...if you can't post something useful, then don't post.

But...Elite Trader is a free site that has no boundries to entry. So there will always be idiots who want to vomit out whatever comes to mind, without regard to being helpful or even slightly intelligent.

The only way to make a dent is for serious posters to publicly jump on anyone who posts obvious crap, and to do it immediately.
