St. Louis Riots Follow Common Script

It is interesting to note that the same race hustlers (Sharpton, Crump, etc.) that made such a huge fuss about the Duke Lacrosse case are the same set of clowns that showed up to stir up a riot in this situation.

Of course, the Duke Lacrosse accuser, Crystal Mangum, is now locked up in prison for murder and many other crimes. No one in the media ever questions the race hustlers about Mangum's lengthy criminal career.

Speaking of justice, where is the Justice for the store owner? A store owner just wanting to provide for his family and perform an honest days work for an honest days pay. What crime exactly did he commit? He went to work only to be robbed. When he reported it to police along with the tape of the robbery he didn't know who robbed him. The police then discover it was Michael Brown. So what happens now, the store owner now has his store looted. That's justice? Where are the protests on behalf of the store owner? where is the store owners justice? What exactly did the store owner do to deserve any of this? Then the leftist media and race hustlers talk about "Food Deserts" and wonder why owners don't open their stores in certain areas.
It probably a little too nuanced for the rioters that the lack of justice they're "protesting" is exactly what they're guilty of themselves.

The store owner is also receiving death threats.

I guess the solution is to not report the crime when you are robbed, eh?

Perhaps we ought to go back to the way we used to resolve situations like this: the perpetrator makes good the loss to the victim. If you steal something from somebody, you return it. If you don't have it anymore, or used it up, or ate it, then you pay for it. If you don't have any money, then you work off the debt.

An awful lot of firewood got cut this way. Makes a lot more sense than just throwing the perp in jail. What good does that do the victim?

When the criminal justice system puts a thief on trial, they are normally ordered to pay full restitution to the victim. In under 5% of the cases, restitution is paid. Any proposal that counts on the good will of the criminal to repay the victim simply will never work. The concept of working off the "debt" for criminal that rather steal than work is also absurd. "Working off the debt" would also be viewed as a form of "debt slavery" that oppresses minorities by the liberals (instead of form of restitution to the victim).

I'm sure if you try real real hard, you'll be able to understand what I said.

We're not talking about "good will". We're talking about restitution to the victim. The perp has no choice in the matter. Never work? It worked for centuries. Still does in some cultures. Whether or not it would work here, now, is another matter. Given our desire to cut deals and let the victims go hang, it probably wouldn't.

And "working off the debt" is not "debt slavery"; it's paying off the debt one owes to the individual owed. Minorities and liberals have nothing to do with it. It's a matter between the perpetrator and the victim.

Is that better? Shall I make it simpler for you?

According to the U.S. justice system, the perp has no choice in the matter... they must pay restitution according to a judgement, but it never happens.

Why don't we revert to the entire treatment of how other cultures deal with thieves. First time caught, off with your hand. Second time, off with your head. Fail to pay restitution, your entire family is placed into slavery to pay off the debt. I guess this is why the system has "worked" for centuries. Good luck with instituting it in the states.

Try again.

I'm not talking about the way things are or even the way they should be. I'm talking about the way they used to be. My suggestion to consider that was only half-serious.

Lighten up, for Christ's sake.

Message to Ferguson black community. Protesting OK. Rioting not OK. If we can't get these simple concepts right, it's really kind of pointless to continue the "conversation". All you are accomplishing is proving your local police department was right to bring out the tanks. A police department who is probably laughing their asses off right about now.

Police deploy tear gas to impose Ferguson curfew

The first night of a state-imposed curfew in Ferguson, Missouri, ended with tear gas and seven arrests, after police dressed in riot gear used armored vehicles to disperse defiant protesters who refused to leave a St. Louis suburb where a black, unarmed teen had been shot by a white police officer a week earlier.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson said protesters weren't the reason for the escalated police reaction early Sunday morning after the midnight curfew took effect, but a report of people who had broken into a barbecue restaurant and a man who flashed a handgun in the street as armored vehicles approached the crowd of protesters.

Also overnight, a man was shot and critically wounded in the same area, but not by police; authorities were searching for the shooter. Someone also shot at a police car, officials said.

I bet the local police force that has been dismissed is laughing their butts off.
