Here's another example... I do it this way to keep my analysis at the higher level.

In truth, the final falling red is iffy (at forest level), until price leaves the formation either way. At the forest level, I don't let a temporary pause in price affect the Forest Gaussian, just the lower levels.

By HL (higher lows) I meant bars 1 and 11.

Referring to bar 9, correct?
Sure it is a price move up, and causes a lower level Gaussian change. But it is a small movement and not Forest level -- it is exactly what would (must) happen to form a Traverse Channel inside the Forest Channel.

The move (Price or Volume) is not sufficient to change the Forest Gaussian... to me, anyway...

:)

The price is moved by the market (traders') sentiment about the future. Different size groups have different sentiments that change at various speeds: on various fractals.

The chart resolution (i.e. 5 min bars) acts as a sampler of the continuous price waveform, and filters out frequencies higher than half of the sampling frequency: low-band-pass filter.

Chart frequency (resolution): 5 min bars, 2 min bars, etc..

... cnms2,
Just so I know what your definitions are, could you please, at your leisure, elaborate on:
Sentiment fractal
Chart resolution as a digital filter
Chart frequency

I guess, from the two parallel trend lines that define a channel one is the right (proper) one, and the other one what's left. Hence RTL & LTL ... :)

As St. Michael (Travolta) said: the antonym of "white" is "yolk"!

... Also the right side of price bars may be smooth and the left side may be rough but left is never right. :D
