I can't say exactly how one would go about this, as I have very little experience with Qcharts (less than 2 months). I can tell you how I use Qcharts. Start by creating a layout that contains Stock Symbol, EPS, Float, and Average Daily Volume. Once completed, save this layout for future use. From the Stocktables.com web site, download the data in excel format. Open the stocktables.com data and copy the symbols list. Then, open notepad.exe and copy those symbols from stocktables.com into notepad. Save the notepad file using whatever name you like, but use a .csv extension. Import this file into Qcharts. Sort for EPS, Float, and Average Daily Volume - deleting equities that fail to meet the minimum parameters. When finished, export the data into the same file into which you copied the Stocktables.com data and click yes to overwrite. Reopen this file and copy the file symbols. Paste the symbol list into a Wealth-Lab web site watch list, or create a new Data Source in Wealth-Lab developer. Run the Chartscripts.

Hope that helped.

For those of your interested, I made a simple macro in Excel that will weed out stocks from the final universe that do not meet the float, avg volume, EPS, and price constraints that Spydertrader mentions. I am not sure who wrote the original macro ("fetch yahoo"), so I am not sure who to credit other than Spydertrader for sending it to me. :)

The macro fetches, from Yahoo.com, the relevant data for a list of symbols you can easily cut & paste from the stocktables.com excel download and hides any rows that fail the test. You can also change the criteria; for example, I currently use 150,000 avg daily volume constraint instead of 200,000 like Spydertrader, as my account is smaller and consequently, so is my trade size. You can change this to whatever you need. The input areas are generally in yellow.

Once you input the list of symbols into the first sheet called "Watch List", you hit the "Fill" button and it will automatically download all the data you need. I had to separate the "Float" tab because Yahoo displays the Float with commas which causes problems when delimiting.

Finally, click the "Hide" button, and only the stocks that meet all the criteria will be displayed. You can highlight the symbols and copy them directly into a Wealth Lab watchlist on the website or in Wealth Lab Developer. The cool thing is it the copy will ignore any hidden rows, so you only paste the symbols you need.

I have input the list of symbols directly from Stocktables.com for 4/26/05, sorted by symbol and by 90 RS and EPS %'s. All you have to do at this point is click "Fill" then "Hide". You can also unhide to see the list again and clear the entire list as well.

Feel free to modify, delete, or otherwise manipulate the spreadsheet. I would be interested in any improvements that are made.

I hope this cuts down on some of your prep time.

Jack Hershey has often written, "The longer a stock remains "In Dry Up," the greater the potential move in price."

The following commentary pertains to the use of The Jack Hershey Wealth-Lab Chartscript Culling Methodology as described in previous posts. As previously indicated, this automated culling methodology remains in the development and testing phase. As a result, I have taken no trades based on these methods - irrespective of signal generation.

This morning I monitored two lists of stocks (16 total equities): Those equities finding themselves "In Dry Up" and and the remaining equities from this morning's Hot List (not "In Dry Up").

Dry Up Stocks

BCSI ELOS EXM EZPW GDP MFLX SIGM PARL

Remaining Hot List Stocks

DCAI FORD MCRI SNDA TOPT TRGL USG XXIA

Our system generated five possible trade signals from the list of eight Dry Up Stocks when actual volume exceeded calculated "Low Band" Dry Up Volume prior to 11:30 AM for several equities (5) in this group.

Dry Up Stocks Triggering Signal

BCSI EXM GDP PARL SIGM

Dry Up Stocks NOT Triggering Signal

ELOS EZPW MFLX

Of the five signals generated, four of the equities failed to show price improvement (BCSI EXM GDP MFLX), and as a result, found themselves eliminated from further consideration.

SIGM did show price improvement and met all criertia at time of signal generation.

Time: 10:53 AM
Price: 8.48
MACD: +0062
Stoch: 100.0000
Score: 2
FRV: 285,275 shares

For the eight Remaining Hot List Stocks, we also witnessed the generation of numerous possible trade signals - seven in all. I have outlined these signals below.

No Signal

DCAI

The following equities triggered a trade signal when actual volume exceeded calculated "Low Band" Dry Up Volume. However, we eliminated them from further consideration based on the reasons outlined below.

No Price Improvement

FORD MCRI SNDA TOPT TRGL USG XXIA

I hope you find the above information useful.
