Ditto.
The entire notion of "edge" is false... there is no such thing (legal) as "edge on the market".
How are you guys making a profit without an edge?
(Perhaps the question answers itself.)

No... you can put the odds in your favor by what you know and how you act. That may be an edge over some other trader not as smart as you, but that's not edge on the market. A genuine edge would be like insider info or front-running trades.

Good Evening Laissez Faire,Yes. If you’re not making a profit, it’s a waste of time.![]()
Scat, what on earth are you talking about???
Stay in your lane bro,or at least preface your statement with," for the average retail trader there is no edge",or a handful of guys have "edge"..

You stay in YOUR lane. Traders always talking "their edge", or "looking for an edge"... Hogwash!
You describe your edge and I'm betting I can explain how it is NOT an edge on the market/trade.
IMV Price TA is the smartest, easiest to understand, low risk, high profit potential way to trade the markets. But even Price TA has no "edge" on the markets. I may have an edge over other players who are more sloppy at it than I, of course, but that's not edge on the market.
Pelosi has an edge. I'm betting you only THINK you do.
Ok,Mr Scap...
You claim there are no edges, and I claim not only do they exist, but I have/had one...
I will be the first to admit that the edge I have is not nearly as profitable as it was the last 2 years.Simply put, edges dont last forever, and in my 30 years of trading that is tried and true.
You ask what my edge is??
I have a method of providing liquidity and buying Verts, flys and or Calanders for even money and often credits.
I am a very good market maker..Thats my edge.
In the last 3 years,I have not had a down day(other than marks). Dont believe me,call my bluff, and lets make a large wager.

OK, you got me. Market Makers get to capture the spread... like a guaranteed fee...as incentive for them to provide liquidity. You're like the bookie who makes the vig regardless of whomever wins the bet.
You're talking an entirely different animal from.... hardly an edge a retail trader would look for (or can even have?).
Lol,Im a retail guy...
What I am not is a directional trader..
If a directional trader consistently doubles the return of the S&P with less volatility, wouldn't you say that trader has some sort of edge??
