IMO: Duration of edge is inversely proportional to number people (more like amount of money) pursuing it! [edge could be exploitable pattern, or exploitable statistic]

No... you can put the odds in your favor by what you know and how you act. That may be an edge over some other trader not as smart as you, but that's not edge on the market. A genuine edge would be like insider info or front-running trades.
