Thats one of the areas worth taking a second look at. If you can back test (or simply forward test to build a view in time) the impact of news you might decide "not to enter if there is a signal and a news event today" ... say.

Once you know a systems entries and exits its much easier to go back and review what news possibilities did around these times (although slogging through the newspaper archives at the local library isn't necessarily easy).
