SPX Credit Spread Trader

I closed my 1190/1200 Jan put spread on Friday. Looking to put on the same position for Feb but couldn't get a fill this morning. Might bump it up to 1195/1205 to grab just a little more premium but I would rather be at or below 1200 on the short side.

Has anyone had experience with partial fills with Options Xpress? I have order to close 1205/1195 put spread for .05 and got 1 of 10 partial fill. Since initial credit was .50 this will mean $45 net income with a commission of $29. I know that I could have used the option for "full fill only" but did not even think about it until now. Any way after the fact to call someone to encourage completing the full fill.
What do all/some of you do with respect to "partial fills".
Thanks, Jack

Immediately call them or chat online, I can't speak for OX but for TOS they usually end up getting it filled, even if its a seperate ticket they will give a commission free trade to fulfill the original order.

Call OX. Chat is ok for admin stuff, worthless for trading. Get a live body on the phone. My guess is they will blame it on the CBOE and tell you there's nothing they can/will do.

Sorry, feeling cynical today.

Good luck.

Trying to figure it out... in the last 8 yrs feb set has been lower 4 times (than Jan) and higher 3 times. When it has been higher...its not by much..except 99 (+25) and 05 (+25) If this Jan is 1300 then it would represent a gain of 2 % from Dec set close (1274) add another (generous) 3% gain and we reach abt 1340..its interesting that even after today the 1345 Feb calls were still only abt 8% prob of exp...looking at futures tonight they are down so thinking tomorrow will look to sell the 1245's.....a 10% gain from the lows of Oct set (1184) would be 1302...hummmmm

I don't believe there is a "full fill only" with OX trading spreads. If there is, I can't find it. TOS users, does tos allow a all-or-none on spread trades?

If so, this would be another point in TOS favor, but I'm still waiting to open a account until the llc is complete.

TOS does not have a all-or-nothing feature for spreads, would be nice if they did. :(

I've had this happen from time to time. I don't remember ever being charged anything more than what the commission should have been for the original lot. None of my partials have been carried overnight though. In all cases I would get a partial fill and within a few minutes the rest of the order would fill.

however if it is GTC would not that carry over to the next day? so your order would be finished perhaps the nxt trading day? At Harris this happened a couple of times for me.
