Maybe. The situation is probably unprecedented however, except maybe for Nixon's lynching.

Our system investigates actual crimes. Not theories or narratives, and certainly not people just because we would like to bring them down. Few people in public life could withstand what they have planned for Trump, which is to go over every detail of his political and financial life and see what they can plausibly charge him with.

Trump did not get where he is by playing by their rules. He should instruct Sessions to unrecuse himself, fire the Special Counsel, end his investigation and fire Rosenstein, who has proven himself either disloyal or just too stupid to be entrusted with such an important responsibility.

This will be resolved politically anyway, so we might as well get to that now before we have had more months of damaging, one-sided leaks. If republicans want to impeach Trump over it, let them try. At least we will know who to concentrate on in primaries.

At first blush what you suggest seems extreme,but we're long past the enough is enough stage. Trump needs to force their hand. Produce your evidence or I'm shutting it down. And produce these anonymous sources. The accused has the right, the legal right to meet his accusers. Media can print whatever nonsense they want but legal investigations must be based in fact. The accusers and the evidence must be seen, or fire everyone and shut it down. You're right, it's just a political game anyway. There is nothing which will come of this in a courtroom. Let the people decide next election where the political chips fall, and there's the rub. The chips won't fall towards the democrats based on actual evidence, and they know it.
 
Kushner in the spotlight. This guy probably just wanted to quietly go about his business making billions but now he's a center piece on the chessboard. He must be really really pissed.



Special counsel is investigating Jared Kushner’s business dealings

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is investigating the finances and business dealings of Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and adviser, as part of the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, according to officials familiar with the matter.

FBI agents and federal prosecutors have also been examining the financial dealings of other Trump associates, including former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Carter Page, who was listed as a foreign-policy adviser for the campaign.

The Washington Post previously reported that investigators were scrutinizing meetings that Kushner held with Russians in December — first with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, and then with Sergey Gorkov, the head of a state-owned Russian development bank. At the time of that report, it was not clear that the FBI was investigating Kushner’s business dealings.

The officials who described the financial focus of the investigation spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

I hope they find all sorts of stuff on Kushner (though I don't think anything will come out of this either). Please, by all means, get rid of him.
