Socialism for the Rich and Capitalism for the Poor !

80% of the politicians, appointees and hangers-on, lobbyists, and bureaucrats?
Limousine Liberals are the worst. It has always been this way. Being civilized means you have made it and can focus on aspirational nonsense. Law of the Jungle and Darwinian ideology still rule the rest. It is comical watching the shot show go on when you already know the outcome.

Truly spoken like the society that lacks behind the most compared to every other western developed society that has comprehensive welfare, pension, healthcare, and education systems. No other society is so preoccupied with political toxicity and yet lacks so many basic needs. Donal Trump is right about one single thing : "it's sad". On everything else he and his ilk is wrong.

lolz, yes the system has already tilted too far toward socialism. The welfare load's certainly grown....it wouldn't be the case if citizens were taking a higher piece of that GDP home though.

Data and graphs speak a thousand words. These are damning.

BTW I fully agree with you that nobody should get free lunch. Everyone should work hard for their equitable share of the pie.

What I'm bitching about is how the government is unfairly giving more and better access to the rich, but at the same time limiting the poor to the same financial resources, even though it's on a much smaller scale.

OK\
but i like the occasional free lunch mom cooked.[Even though as a kid i had to work also, so only partly free lunch LOL.]
NOT sure i would say the US gov limits poor @ ALL\ unless you want to say the snap=food stamps+unlemplyment=ACA care=medicare paycrumbs are thoughtless gifts designed to keep income @ low level.
LOL.{ Iactuall think the gov designed those as helpful, but a dimwit would use them as an excuse for lazy+ low income}
RICH have always gotten better deals , quantity works that way /but thats a private sector capitalist idea, to a point.
BUT in USA, gov hasnt really been sucessfull with thier promotion of class warfare; unless one is lazy + poor reader.

ACTUALLY private sector charity, in many case gets it more wise + more right.
I like what they call blessing boxes;
they put canned goods, tune beans + bird food grain sin ther.If you need a blessing take one + give a can if you ''can''LO L /true. It's honor system; some times some leaves one bag of stuff or just one can of tuna fish:caution::caution:.
Someone killed country music \down on music row;
the evidence will show\
down on music row. Song=Alan jackson +George Strait /Murder on Music Row. This song laments the rise of country pop on a street named Music Row, capital of country songs/LOL:D:D

I've been done w/the GOP for a while and was done w/most when they were done w/democracy in 2020. So when I read about a bill like this, I think, oh another "performative BS" bill and it automatically goes on a scale.

On one side, realistically how much spending is this saving? How many jobs is this going to add? What will be the poverty/hunger increase vs not touching it?

On the other side I weigh the value of the politics in headlines. "GOP fights Bidenflation by curving reckless green new deal woke agenda", "Marxist dems vote against inflationary spending", "Dems entitlement policies are dragging this country down".

sux I see it that way but I didn't start it. FWIW, Dude seems far from the worst:

While the Fed generously bailed out everyone who held more than $250,000 at Silicone Valley Bank and other banks that have recently failed or about to fail in the near future, they're going all out to block poor people from getting their food stamps.
I'm a little slow here. Can you explain the connection between the Fed and the Food Stamp program and specifically what the Fed is doing that would support the conclusion that the Fed is "...going all out to block poor people from getting their food stamps. I thought that the food stamp program was primarily a creature of Congress. Where am I going wrong?

I think he meant Fed gov, not Fed Reserve

Oh. Thank you. Did I mention I was a little slow? I foolishly connected "Fed" in his introductory clause to his use of "Fed" in the independent clause which followed. To wit: "...the Fed generously bailed out everyone who held more than $250,000 at Silicone Valley Bank..., they're going all out to block poor people from getting their food stamps." I need to remain more alert when reading ET posts. I have become fair too dependent on what people write, rather than what they actually mean. :D
