Dispensationalism is a way of segmenting the Bible into different historical timeframes where God has revealed Himself in a progressive fashion to mankind. It also lays out Gods plan (historical and future) for the Church and for Israel.

A lot of times things from the Old Testament while still meaningful, apply themselves in a different Theological context today.
