So atheist's believe it is simpler for the universe to create itself?

so what did that really buy you? You have proved that those of us that believe in a creator are dumbasses. How has that in anyway improved your life?

"So atheist's believe it is simpler for the universe to create itself?"

Irrespective of atheists, it's obviously simpler than anything else, except for there to not be any universe at all

Then why not even go further and say it would be simpler for there to not be any universe at all?

..there you go.

I just think the Atheist's view point that there can't be a God because that is more difficult than the Universe creating itself is misguided. And therefore, they believe there must be no God. If we were to break down things to "even more simpler", then there shouldn't even be a Universe that exists in the first place.

It's to do with Occam's razor, "When faced with competing hypotheses, select the one that makes the fewest assumptions."

There does happen to be a Universe. Adding the illusion of a creator, is not a hypothesis with the fewest assumptions.

yes, that's all good and well, but we all have to live our own life, and you could say, "That which makes us happiest is best."

And that's why atheists sometimes don't want to really win the argument. To trade bliss for intellectual rigor is not a great trade.

you could be right on that one, who comes out ahead? The guy who comes out happy, or the guy who comes out right?

Who comes out ahead? Well, murder may make a homicidal maniac happy but he's never going to be right.

your statement is moronic.
no explanation is not a simpler explanation... its just no explanation.

with the razor you are to choose between competing hypothesis which could explain the item in question.

my point was, and probably poorly thought out in the pool of intellectual scientific giants who post on this site, when you are dealing with billions of years which most of me can't comprehend versus the short lifespan of the common man, how does proving God cannot exist improve my life in any way? Especially since I rely on Him just to get me through the day?

I'll give you that, and given the choice, I would always choose the truth, no matter how painful it is for me personally.

oh sorry, I replied before you did
