Snuskpelle's (kind of) Intraday Adventures 2019

Managed to make 175 while multitasking from different issue yesterday by one algo activation shortly after open.

Data today in half an hour and half an hour after open, together with open it means 3 time points of interests.
 
Pointless data and market behavior, waiting for market open in an hour. My guess is we will be down from here but I don't want to bet anything on it.
 
NQ into congestion, lost 20 on early attempt to join breakout (cut this one unnecessarily early due to MAE near stop, as algo chose short and maximum possible excursion would have been +200).

Waiting for next data arrival.
 
Interesting highlights of coming week:
Wed: Fed July meeting minutes release (time TBD)
Thur: Jobless claims hour before open, PMI 15 min after open (need to multitask these as my weekly working day has been moved to Thursdays)
Fri: Powell speech (time TBD, guessing start half an hour after open)
 
Was short two times, +15 (basically ended up with bad MAE both times and exited neutral). Holding on a bit longer would have allowed me to join down train after opening rally faded. Anyway, not going to fret about it, there will be better days with higher conviction/signal to noise.

Unrelated: The main pain in my mind is whether I'm running the appropriate strategy for the situation (intraday trend following instead of dumb beta as are my two only options in production). Might be that we will see new highs, although my intent had been to wait until October.
 
Stop hit for -200. MFE 100, should have reacted to it as it happened very soon after entry. Got into "hope it changes despite slow evidence of otherwise".
 
^ fantastic, got closed out above bar high of 7732 (that is a midpoint though, so spread closed me out presumably). NQ went down noticeably after that. Either way, I didn't move position to zero risk as I now intend to do on all manual trades so I can really only blame myself. But hey, that's another reason why I should automate even one shot trades...
