What he did is so reprehensible, there needs to be some outrage and disavowment from the LGBTQ and African American leadership here. I won't hold my breath, but I hope they can see for what it is the damage he has done to their ongoing causes.

He won't do a day in prison. The mentally disturbed defense is already being floated. Trump will be blamed for contributing to his breakdown. The left will show sympathy for the poor guy, he'll spend some time in a rehab facility and that will be that.

Sadly this is probably true. Already no Chicago prosecutor wants to be seen vigorously driving the case. The top black female Cook County prosecutor already stepped away from the case -- not wanting to be seen prosecuting a gay black man who is anti-trump. She handed off the case to an underlying while also removing most of the resources of her office to drive the case.

Unless the Federal prosecutors get involved for the threatening letter -- then this case has the possibility of going nowhere in Chicago.
