Resources as in evidence? Is there anything she has that are considered necessary tools of the trade for a prosecutor that would be otherwise unavailable to the new prosecutor?

If so on either of these situations, the word “obstruction” comes to mind. “Aiding and Abetting” would probably be too strong.

Resources as any assistance of staff in her office to perform filing, brief submission, etc. etc. . This means the Asst DA is working on the case solo according to the media reports.

The Cook County DA does not view the case as a priority to expend resources and time on..... you know with all those murders occurring in Chicago.... which they so successfully prosecute leading to a reduction in the violent crime rate.

The thing that is so despicable about this episode is that this guy could have triggered a racist retaliation from some violent nutcase. He was probably hoping for something like that. We have already seen the republican baseball team be attacked by a leftwing nut and the Family Research council offices attacked by a person who believed the SPLC slander that they were an anti-homosexual hate group.

The other despicable aspect is that Smollett was perfectly prepared to see an innocent (white) person prosecuted and likely sent to jail for a long time for this hoax. He just picked the wrong city. The Chicago cops smelled bullshit from the getgo, which in itself is amazing.

If this guy stays on his Fox show, it will be an outrage. Roseanne got fired for a lame tweet joke. This guy can attempt to ignite a race war and Fox backs him? It's almost like there is a double standard or something. Probably something to do with white privilege.

They probably could have solved it in 2 weeks rather than drag it along like swampy DC kleptocrats for 2+ years and come up with a whole boatload of fuckall....

CPD did seem to sniff this out pretty quick. I'm still just amazed at this guy Smollett. The composition of his character is going to need some study.

The Roseanne deal is hard to figure. She claims she did not know that Valerie Jarrett was African-American but she never really explained how she got to that "planet of the apes" reference either. What exactly did she mean by it?
