For me simple is better. Whe I stated (just recently) lost consistantly my fist couple of weeks using technical indicators. I decided that I was going to lose myself out of an account if I didn't simplify things. I then switched to using trend lines with support and resistence. Once I did this I became profitable. My only stumble so far is when I got to cocky and became careless with the trades that I take as well as my exit points.
This works for me because it is simple and it is easy to quickly analyze. It will not work for everyone because we are all different.

Keep it simple, but not very simpler.
