Sick Feeling

It is not online, but in books.....Exchange Traded Funds and Emini Stock Index Futures......Getting Started in Futures.....Getting Started in Options.
They talk about if one person takes short, another one is taking long. So it is a zero sum game.:)
I do not think it is the same for stocks.

Ok, I see.

I knew there was some reason I didn't fool with futures. :)

You'd rather see some other player lose in order for you to win?

No, Bobcathy said that she believes futures are a zero sum game.
Stocks are not a zero sum game, and I only trade stocks.

You seem not to have fully thought out your motives for participating in the stock market.

Very well thought out.

America was founded as a business venture. The stock exchanges are the best way to participate in the true power of America. I simply decide what vehicle to make my money in, just as a farmer decides whether to plant wheat or raise cattle( government interference notwithstanding)

So it's immoral for you to invest or trade in stocks of certain companies but it's not immoral for you to profit from the losses of other trader/investors?

No, I get a sick joy from knowing I snatched the bread from some other bastard's pocket. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.:D

Why are you watching it?

Because Bob is a news junkie....when he trades with me, it is on all day long on mute with the subtitles running. UGH.....

Db, either I am not properly communicating, or you are not properly recieving.

I have stated that the stock market is NOT a zero sum game, therefore it is possible for both parties in a trade to be profitable, one on the long side, the other on the short side. There are many strategies that co-exist peacefully in the market.

Therefore, I do not necessarily profit from the loss of others.

Hopefully this clarifies my postion.
