Defense = $720B

Total Federal Tax Revenue, $2.5T
Deficit............................ 1.5T
__________________________

Total Spending, $4T

Therefore, $720B/$4T = 18%.

Not saying "18% is justified nor that it shouldn't be smaller"... just pointing out the magnitude of the Leftist LIES!!

Personally, I'd like to see a SHARP reduction in defense spending and a reallocation of those funds and priorities (which would include stopping our participation in the ME wars).

I'd also like to see a SHARP reduction is social spending of all types... we can't afford what we pay now and it will be our ruination in the end.

I agree, I want to see military chopped too...... I was never defending the bloated defense budget, I was mearly pointing out reality.

From what we have seen from the left, they seem to think we can go on and on with entitlement spending, and all we need to do is cut a few bucks from the defense budget to get ourselves back into solvency. One to many Michael Moore flicks for these guys.

I agree , 9/11/12 in Libya proved what we do have militarily isn't worth a fvck anyway. (The warrior culture of "Duty, Honor, Country:" has been completely eliminated from our modern military command structure.
All we have left is pussified Politically correct politicians in uniform, who are too afraid to shit unless so directed by an official)

If not for those CIA guys disobeying direct orders we would have, not just 4 dead but 30 dead or worse.

The obama admin was more than willing to hang these dutiful govt employees out to dry: to be killed or captured.

Does anyone actually watch Bill Maher? His show is absolute rubbish. If you want to have a comedy show that pushes a lefty agenda then do like Colbert and Stewart. Their shows are actually funny and entertaining. I can't say that about Maher.

I disagree with Jon Stewart on most issues, but I enjoy his show because he's smart, clever and entertaining.
