Second Trump Assassination Attempt

They are only charging Routh with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. In this case, these are easy charges to prove and still carry lengthy possible prison terms. There is no need to focus on "intent" to have these charges stick -- only need to prove that the gun was in his possession before he fled.

"On Monday, the judge read the penalties for each charge. The first offense carried a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and supervised release. The second offense carried a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and supervised release. Routh responded "yes" when asked if he understood the penalties."

For now, but if this is all they get, I guess they will go for the max (or near it) as he was already a convicted felon. Not sure if they can take the fact Trump was near the gunman into account. Also not sure if the standard is to sentence gun-related charges concurrently.

It's a continuing pattern with these Leftists that support Democrats. Let's not forget the Sanders supporter that shot up the Congreffional baseball field in 2017. -----------Yet, it's Republicans that want a bloodbath?--------Yeah, no.

Severn years ago, however, he didn't go to shoot up Bernie Sanders! :)

The pattern also includes the Leftist Democrat supporter that hatched a plan to assassinate Brett Kavanaugh. Sure, he turned himself in, but was right outside Kavanaugh's home. Yet, it's Republican MAGAs that spur on violence.

Fucking ridiculous.

They are violating this guys second amendment rights.
And who cares about serial numbers. You can 3d print a gun without a serial number anyway.

How aren't conservatives appalled that this guy is being convicted on Federal Charges. Federal Gun control laws should be illegal per the second amendment. The Supreme court should intervene and push his conviction down to the states where everyone wants them decided.

Why aren't conservatives protesting this?!?

I wonder if this were the first attempt if it would have succeeded. It was definitely a better plot, because golf courses are extremely large and difficult to fully secure. The holes are surrounded by trees and bushes for people to hide in. The first attempt had massive failures including police just ignoring the shooter altogether.
One thing's for sure... it wasn't B1.... because he could never hit a green from that distance. :p

Wearing off? You think that a govt-trained hitter whose actions are sanctioned and subsidized... would miss?

No conspiracy involved in this question, but how'd the Secret Service miss this guy if they opened fire on him? The fence maybe deflecting their bullets? Too bad that one agent that waxed the guy in PA wasn't there.
