Schondfeld or Hold Brothers

You do realize you are responding to a 5 year old thread right? A lot has changed in 5 years

Quote from jmreyes:

I'm not certain where etrader is getting his information, but Hold Brothers does have prop operations in NY, NJ, Chicago and San Francisco.

Yes, I am aware, but Hold has been in the prop biz for 12 years making it the oldest firm in the US....doh....

Wow...a whole 12 years!!! They must be the oldest firm in existence!!!

Uhh, there are at least 2 or 3 others that been around longer than Hold.

BTW, I think it's a bit obvious you are a shill for Hold, why are you reviving old threads?

This would be a very dead subject if not for the replies. The fact of the matter is that the post was still displayed making it misleading. As a "shill" for Hold, I wanted to rebut the mis-information. It would be the same if something was posted in regard to any other firm that continued to linger and be wrong.

BTW, I believe it was clear that I explained Hold was the oldest PROP firm in the business.

Finally, I'm fairly certain that of the US prop firms in the equities market Hold is the oldest. However, if I am wrong please let me know the names of the firms that have been around longer.

Oh...and Hydroblunt? Isn't that a bit...shall we say...juvenile?

Bright Brothers for one (where is my fee Don?). Carlin has beginnings earlier than Hold, although they are not really in the daytrading bizness anymore. Man what does it matter, if Hold Brothers is to exemplify what the oldest firms are like then give me a shop that started last week anytime.

Very and I love it. When you pull the stick out of your ass maybe I'll let you take a hit of this blunt.

hold bros the oldest firm in the business. yeah right. new is much better than old though in this case because you don't want software that has 12 years of legacy problems. good rates though

as for shoenfeld, it's funny reading the old posts. they're training program was horrendous, and it was a billion dollar hedge fund at the time (with a low-end prop arm). stay away in my opinion. but maybe trillium (which is part of shoen).
