Quote from Aaron:

Short oil was the problem. We're out of the position and the market now, though, but not without taking large losses. I've been harshly reminded of the saying that "the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent."

I am so sorry at your misfortunes and from what I can gather it looks as tough you gave in right at the top...

WS makes money by pooling strings to extremes either way…

Good luck

Oh my the comedy deepens. Here I thought it was a typical ET thread back n' forth and then it took this marvelous, dark turn at the end. like a fine novel this is.

Oh baby. The lines wasted congratulating this guy. Listen he will ALWAYS be remembered favorably for what he did with the Jewish people. THAT LIST TOOK guts. I'm not going to knock that.

Folks anytime these guys try to sell you something... I don't care who it is...antennas up.

Anything you ever get about stocks will be emblazoned with the words past performance don't mean squat and do not reflect future tendencies.. as far as I know my newsletter in the 1990's was the only one that went the other way and actually guaranteed future returns.... but the key is I gave the letter away ($10)... ~ stoney

I don't think Aaron tried to sell anyone anything. And, you sound like an idiot.

You might be right he seems to set up booths at conventions and give portfolio advice and his card out for free. I mistook him to be one of those Timothy Sykes types fellows because he is being linked to surfing report which I think is a pay site. I may have this all wrong but who cares?

Never disrespect the stonedinvestor it will get you nowhere in life.

:( Sorry Aaron.

Imagine if the fund was still using double leverage!!!

-30% and it was NOT double leverage? Still kind of high no?

I am last person to give a futures fund trader advice but there seems to be this common thread where funds load up on a position which seems quite large given the potential risks to the fund. I have made the mistakes in the past but with my own money. On a large scale look at Amaranth.

I think the amount of loss is less important than what we can learn from Aaron's openness which is the the repeated mantra of never let any one position be a potential significant drag on your portfolio. Of course if you hit it, it is a home run, but we got to stop letting one position ruin all the hard work it takes to be profitable. Frist thing that matters is how much you can lose and where you stops are.

Hope you make this month a distant memory Aaron real soon...

Dude, lighten up. I have never noted Aaron to sell anything. Shorting crude has been a tough trade like shorting CROX. One has to wait out the blatant stupidity and mania.
