Maximum loss 4% of TC, so far long 3 contracts. This is a rough indication, but I might scale in with 2 more lots, depends.

OK Big Pimp'in!

That's a nice technique, B1S2 has mentioned it on occasion, and MarketSurfer used to use it extensively when he was taking counter-trend positions.

If I could figure out the hows and the whys I'd do it also.

Just let me know how it works out for you. I know you are new at holding for long periods of time but have you determined when you are going to exit

Yes, indeed I am following his advise and implementing some of my own research, which is based on much shorter TFs breakouts of either S or R. First real S @ 1240 in cash S&P on this positional trade. B1S2 went long recently @ 1260 I believe based on hourly BLD, so if that's any consolidation there are 3 of us in this long play so far.

EDIT: B1S2 uses divergences, so do I now. If he managed to have such a successful career trading divergences on longer TFs, so can I, offsetting unrealised (realised as well I suppose) losses by making S/R breakout trades in my short-term account, which is still my primary technique.
 
Who knows maybe today is the perfect kind of day. One where we all make money using different methods. Doesn't always happen but it is nice when it does work.

I am glad I took that extra trade now because I won't be able to trade tomorrow at all.:mad:
